Actually, it was a HI-8, I wouldn't use anything less... =) Someday it WILL
be digital. ;-)
Several have asked how I did this. I waited for a moment when she was
sleeping, and therefore not moving. I then videotaped her and _slowly_
panned to the right each time I set up a shot - a la "weight-shift" method -
which gave me the information on tape that would have been recorded by a
stereo camera.
Then, at home, I used my WinTV board which has a video in to capture the
highest possible resolution video snaps from the tape and saved them to the
HD as TIFF files. I then used Picture Publisher 4 to reduce and clean up
the pictures, then crop them together or make anaglyphs. For the web I
reduced the DPI to 75, but for the stereo cards I printed, I left it at 600
DPI and they look quite nice as well. (not film quality mind you, but OK.)
