Dial "M" for Murder was shown in a classic movie palace in downtown Richmond,
VA for the benefit of the NSA members attending the Richmond NSA Convention.
The theater was also open to the public and the lines formed all around the
block to see the film.
The projection was flawless and superb. However, while the younger generation
audience seemed to enjoy the 3-D, it appeared that they were a bit restless
in regard to the plot, which may be considered a bit mild for this later part
of the century.
A tour of the projection booth was a bonus for the NSA members, who waited
till the theater emptied. The uphill trek to the top rear of the theater was
well worth the climb.
Incidentally, Hitchcock used the 3-D judiciously and if I am not mistaken he
was unable to see Stereo. Amazing how well the film turned out!
