>I have done some contact printing of holograms using sun light at

This line by John Toeppen intrigued me, Proffessor Lunazzi has described
some apparent experiments at holography usin white LEDS on tech-3d. This
seems to be another example of white light being used for holography evn if
only for contact prints. All references I have come across describing
contact printing of holograms still use lazers and an index matching liquid
between the plates.
I had wondered if white light contact printing could be possible with
holograms because the distance involved is so small there should not be
much splitting into the spectral colours and could still be within the
coherence length.
My own practical experience of holography is limited copying a dichromated
gelatin reflection hologram in a watch onto a home made dichromated
emulsion plate to make my own reflected white light hologram.

Part of the hologram was of the hands and watch face so was a true first
generation hologram but the rest was a reflection contact copy of the
original on the watch. I used a laser to do this but I am wondering from
the above statement whether I could have copied the hologram with white
sunlight .
