P3D ViewMaster Mentioned

YOUR MONEY magazine apparently has a regular department called
"Collectibles". The following appears in the January 2000 issue:

"Reader D.R. of Chicago wrote about her View-Master reels, varying in subject
with some stamped "out of print." Sheldon Aronowitz, who specializes in
View-Master reels and other forms of 3-D entertainment, says these reels can
bring anywhere from $1 to $300. Currently the market is booming: there are
thousands of independent colectors, a thriving interest on eBay, and even a
yearly convention for related collectibles (the National Stereoscopic
Association Convention). Aronowitz says the "out of print" stamp doesn't
necessarily mean the reels are rare. "That wouldn't change the value much,"
he says. However, of one happens to be a movie-preview reel from THE HOUSE
OF WAX, you could be looking at a lot more money: This 1950s reel was shown
exclusively in movie-theater lobbies, and can bring up to $300. For less
desirable reels, expect between $1 and $10.
