Building your own is certainly a popular option.  If you
choose to go that route, you might be interested to know
that Rocky Mountain Memories now offers our twin XA-2
mounting bar as a separate product.  The bar is made of
anodized aluminum with a layer of thin cork, and four
pre-drilled holes: 2 for attaching the cameras, and 2 for
access to the rewind button without removing the cameras
from the bar.
