Been there, done that! ;-)
Seriously, as has been said here, countless of times, everything in 3-D
has been done (or so they say)! When I tried doing this, I thought surely
someone has done this, and sure enough, soon after, I read an article
(from a magazine and/or web site) describing this.
I used a Snappy frame grabber and it works pretty well. You don't even
need a frame grabber, you can also try avi, mpeg, etc. movie files,
downloaded from the internet. It's alot of fun and you can get some
some really great 3-D shots this way. You might try looking for aerial
fly-bys, pulfrich type movies, panning shots, etc. It's guaranteed that
almost any movie, or television show, will yield a 3-D opportunity.
DVD or digital video will give superiour results, and you might remember
the Titanic movie that someone (I forget who) posted here last year.
