Word has it's good points but writing HTML is not one of them. I always use
FrontPage express. It's simple and writes clean code. Don't use Publisher as
a web page editor either(at least the last version I tried).

There are probably other shareware editors out there that are just as good,
but if you have IE installed, you probably have Front Page Express already.
It writes very compatible code as well, so you shouldn't have a problem with
Netscape browsers (word likes to embed fonts I think).
