Thanks Bob, I remember your post about the faulty IR
LEDs/detector. I dont think my problem is the same, as the
visible LEDs on the transmitter fail to light up.
However, I really liked your idea "If you can scrounge up a tv
camera (I know b&w works  - not sure about color) the pickup IS
sensitive to IR and you can see it flash on the tv screen..."....
and I've just finished doing it.
Yes, colour works. The camera 'sees' an IR remote TV controller,
but the VRSurfer transmitter remains dark :*(.
This confirms my conclusion that the transmitter is dead (or
unconscious), but was a good test.
While setting it up I did notice that it would be easy to reverse
the polarity on the power supply. Does anyone know if that could
kill it?


Still trying to buy a replacement,
