Thanks Eddie for job well-done!  The subject of interocular
adjustment in viewers has been a favorite topic of mine for long
time now and I discuss it in my various viewer books.

One reason is exactly what you pointed out, the infinity points
are not always the same distance apart.  Another reason is
people with unusually large of small intepupilar distance. 
Having an interocular adjustment in the viewer (especially a
viewer with small lenses) can make a difference for these
people.  (My wife and most children fall into this category - my
wife cannot use the VM model D viewer)

Thank you!  I cannot fuse the infinity points with this viewer. 
I suspected that the lenses are too close together.  Thank you
for confirming this and for pointing attention to the problem
and cause.
