P3D Realist photos on regular size slide pairs?

I am not sure if this has ever been brought up before, so I will ask.
I was looking through my suppliers catalog of realist mounts and I
thought it would be inexpensive (less) if you could take your realist
pictures and then send them off to your local lab and just have them
mounted as 2x2 pairs on regular mounts.
The dark unexposed side borders would not bother me if the images were
centered properly in the slide so I could use the two slides in a 2x2
viewer.
Is this possible? OR.... would it be something requiring special
instructions and a patient developer to get them centered correctly for
appropriate viewing?
