Good try Steve. Sometimes it is more than a matter of opinion.
That's why it helps to ask people's input on this and I am glad
you are doing it. Here are a few suggestions:
"2 x 2 Format (also known as twinned format, 50mm x 50mm)
This stereo photography format uses either one 35mm camera
(shifting with either the cha cha method or a slide bar) a twin
camera (two monoscopic cameras paired) or a full frame stereo
camera such as the RBT, to produce two separate 'conventional'
slides."
You can mount Realist slides in 2x2 mounts... Even VM chips if
you can find the right mount... So, 2x2 is a method of
mounting/viewing and has little to do with what camera system
took the pictures.
"Interocular adjustment (also known as variable interocular)
A provision in some stereo viewers which allows for adjustment
of the distance between the lenses of the viewer to correspond
with the distance between a viewers eyes."
Common misconception. The adjustment is more useful to match
the image's infinity separation as our discussion of VM viewers
reveals.
"Macro Stereo Photography
In a strict sense macro means that the image on the film is
about the same size or larger than the true size of the image.
In stereo it generally means that the stereo base (distance
between the two taking lenses) is less than the average distance
between a persons eyes (~63mm). "
This last sentence is the definition of hypostereo. Macro
stereo photography continues to be related to the magnification
or focusing distance. The fact that you have to reduce the
stereo base comes from somewhere else...
