It is too late now for that... If this was truly a child's
product, it should have smaller separation of the chips.  But
when it started it was an adult product.  That's why the
separation is 65+mm.  Most children cannot see stereo in a VM
viewer.  The problem is... many adults cannot either with this
new virtual viewer! :-)
