Good point on the "owner" versus "user" distinction. But looking at the
situation more generally, it is a fact of life that the photographer must adapt
to the medium, not vice versa. For some formats the user interface is
inherently so clumsy that using any camera is a pain, and ergonomics become a
secondary consideration. For example, despite the hassle setting the camera up,
my best 2D pictures are taken with my view camera. And I am quite happy taking
3D with my SLR, since a stereo camera, however easy to use, is usually of no
advantage in taking hyperstereos, and cannot take super-wide or super-telephoto
shots at all. I simply become blind to subjects that my rig cannot capture
(mainly things that move). The medium sets the limits and what freedom the
photographer enjoys is within those limits.
