A few months ago, I noted on Photo-3D that Bill Duggan was scheduled
to have heart surgery. I recently wrote him to ask him how he was
recuperating, and was startled to receive the sad news that he passed
away just a few days ago:

>Dear Tom:
>
>We found Bill Sunday night in his kitchen dead. He had probably been dead
>for about three days. I was away in Atlanta and couldn't get in touch with
>him Friday, or Saturday. He was to pick me up at the Airport. When I got
>home I called again but no answer only the answering machine. I had Jeff
>Peters go over and see if his car was there and sure enough it was but no
>response from the inside. I told Jeff to call the police because they would
>have to break in. Bill always had three locks and locked himself in. The
>police found him in the kitchen on the floor.
>
>I am sorry to have to write you the bad news. Bill was a dear man and a
>wonderful companion for five years He was to go into the hospital
>for his heart but decided not to do it.
>
>Thanks for being his friend.
>
>Dorothy Mobley <:O)

Bill served as a projection consultant to the NSA for many years, and
is the man responsible for having that gorgeous 21 foot screen made.
He knew an awful lot about stereo projection, and he was a heck of a
nice guy.

"NEW YORK (AP) -- After the 21st century dawned without a crippling
Y2K catastrophe, some people branded the millennium bug an
exaggerated threat, a huge angst-washed waste of money that got
mounds more attention than it deserved. "
