Forgot to say, there was a movie (I forget the date - late 70's
early 80's) where a subject was placed onto a rotating platform
and scanned with grid lines to create a 3D model in the computer.
Fantasy then, fact now. It was called "Looker", and contained one
of Susan Dey's famous nude scenes...
The thought was that by having a 3D model of the model (slight
pun) that digital imaging techniques could be used to fix any
imperfections and create the perfect image of a woman for
advertising purposes. The name of the company doing this was
called "Digital Matrix" which I seriously thought about trying
to trademark for awhile, I liked it so much :-)
