Thanks ex-Ohioan Steve!!! I don't remember if you were part of
photo-3d back then, but the owner of this Korean company was
here in photo-3d and asked why isn't stereo popular today and
about the history of stereo photography. I gave my 10 lines
summary of the history of stereo photography and, of course, I
had to include the starting of our Cleveland club!!! :-) I never
thought that he would just take it straight like that and put it
in a web page!!! (not that I complain...)
In any case, the Cleveland Club is still operating, getting
about 30 people to attend its monthly meetings. There is a
meeting tonight (as in every first Tuesday of the month), 7:30
pm. The program is a "Tutorial" on photographic composition,
followed by a slide competition with the subject "Serenity".
Also, the Cleveland Club (officially known as the "Ohio Stereo
Photographic Society") has a web site now:
http://home.att.net/~drt-3d/OSPS/OSPS.htm
Take a look under "Literature" for our newsletter (subscriptions
are open to the public). Also, check the Stereo Tutorial for a
brief summary of what stereo is all about.
In photo-3d we have a number of participants, some of them quite
active... I can count at least 6... maybe more.
Regards,
George Themelis
