I was wondering that too. Thing is how would you get around
the lenses moving for the automatic focusing? It seems it
would be too cumbersome focusing one, then get the second
camera to focus on the same area, then move the rig to the
position you want to crop to. With automatic cameras you
can focus for off center but you have to keep the shutter
pressed halfway down and then move the camera into
position. Unless someone has come up with a way to
master/slave focus. . .I have an Olympus Stylus Epic that I
would love to try a rig with. The 2.8 lens is really sharp,
you can get as close as 9" to your subject, and it's smaller
than the T4 Super. What I like about the T4 is the ability
to view from the window at the top of the camera.
I've made a rig from XA2's with instruction from Mike
Watters book. It is a simple range finder but works great
and defaults to the smallest aperture. SSCC Newletter has
been running a 5 part article by David Stuckey on twinning
the XA. That's my next project. :^)
