I guess I'm one of the proponents of Canon Rebels for twinning. Just for an
update: I've been using my Canon Rebel X rig for nearly 4 years now, in all
kinds of conditions: cold, snow, light rain, mist, canoeing, sailing (lots of
salt-water spray, but I keep it in a water-proof bag except when I'm using
it) and even some nice sunny days. I've used it to shoot weddings and
bar-mitzvahs. I've used it for a commercial View Master job in bitterly cold
weather (I carried a Realist with me for backup, but did not need to use any
of the film from it). I have replaced the batteries twice (yes, they load
from the bottom, which is a bit of a hassle, the way I have my cameras
mounted). It synchs very well for flash, especially at the lower speeds I
use to pick up and balance ambient light. Despite its cumbersome shape, size
and weight, it is my stereo camera of choice. It has never failed me. Oh,
by the way, did I mention that I love it?
