P3D EMDE?

Hi Dennis and welcome back to the world of stereo!
>The biggest single single component is the cost of retail

You? How come?
>I am guessing that I could sell the EMDE stereomount for $15
>per 100 pieces if sold though dealers, or for $8 per 100 if
>I sold them directly. At $8 they would be competitive with

Got these flame shields up? Here are my comments:
The best advertising in this loosely populated interest of
ours is called "word of mouth". The "Spicer" cardboard
mounts have done zero advertising and yet more and more
people hear about these because of satisfied users. If
users ask for them, dealers will stock them.
The EMDE mounts WERE a great product. It got me started
in stereo with the right foot on. Perfect mounting with
no effort. Then, all-of-a-sudden, there were gone! I
was forced to switch to Albions and ended up liking the
Albions more. I still think that there is room for EMDE.
You don't seem to be sure if the new EMDEs will have
channels (for horizontal movement) or pockets. If they
have channels, they will be very similar to the Albions.
The pockets are great for beginners. The price that you
mentioned seems very good and competitive with what is out
in the market now.
But my main problem/question is this: How reliable is
the source of mounts? Stereo photographers tend to show
loyalty to certain mounting materials. Once we get used
to using something and we get good with it, we don't want
to switch. We tend to stick with it. EMDE has forced us
to switch more than once. Why should we come back to it?
Who is behind it? Has this person an interest in staying
around for a while? Last I heard, he was selling all his
stereo equipment and was getting out of the hobby (the
hobby, not just the business). Now he is coming back.
Is he coming back just for the money or what? Is he going
to stay around for a while now? Please tells us more!
