Kodak Premium means absolutely *nothing*, and I mean NOTHING. It's a
marketeering buzzword, not unlike the efforts of other companies grope to
portray their mediocre quality as something better than it really is.
Illusions of Grandeur? YES, that's often the heart of marketeering.
I have had some absolutely horrible quality processing from them: PURE SLOP!
I used to work in the mass production photofinishing industry for a number
of years. In fact, I was trained mostly on Kodak equipment. In fact, I
worked a couple years at an "economy" photo lab, when there used to be a
number of independent mass photofinishers in my area. Now they are all gone
from the area...except for Kodak.
Kodak/Qualex is shipping stuff that would have failed to pass muster at the
long-gone "crank-'em-out-as-fast-as-can" economy lab I used to work for.
Get this: Although I had explicitly followed instructions and marked my
Kodachrome processing order as "DO NOT MOUNT", Kodak managed to mount my
View Master Personal stereo images onto regular 35mm mounts!!! AND they
managed to pass it off without acknowledging their screw up! The double
insult of ruining my film and trying to charge me for their services! My VM
images from that roll are totally unusable now.
I now stick hand-written "sticky pad" labels on the film cartridges when I
have special instructions like "DO NOT MOUNT" and "DO NOT CUT ROLL". Of
course, that confuses them too, and they sometimes send me a notice with my
correctly processed, unmounted films that they do not offer cutting
services!!!!!!!!! YES, it's true. We now know where illiterate imbeciles
find employment!
Your best bet is to mount them stereo slides yourself.
