Good stereo slide copies can be made by Ron Labbe (and perhaps others
out there?), starting at $2.75 per unmounted stereo pair, with various
mounting options. He does prints too although I have been less impressed
with the prints, perhaps because the slides were too contrasty and it is
difficult to get a good copy on print film. http://www.studio3d.com/
Another option, which I plan to try with my local lab but have not done
so yet, is to put one or both Realist film chips into 2x2 mounts and
have a copy negative made, then prints from the negative, with "borders"
that can be trimmed off. My lab charges $1.25 for the copy neg and the
first copy of a print from a slide, then regular reprint prices after
that.
For 2x2 mounts, you can use Robot slip in mounts if you can find any old
ones, or combine a 21 x 28 GEPE mount half with a 24 x 24 GEPE mount
half to make a 21 x 24 opening. If you are using RBT's it is simple to
remount in 2x2's then back into stereo mounts later. (Or you can destroy
the heat seal mount and remount later if they are already mounted.) If
anyone needs just a few of these 2x2 mounts, let me know and I could
probably spare some. Or order GEPE's through reel-3d or any photo
dealer.
Good luck. -Linda
