Other people who may have spent long hours vieing stereo pictures are:

On a more serious note, there are inexpensive optical devices which
aid in viewing stereo pairs without having to cross or "wall" the
eyes.

I would think pain and discomfort would limit eye crossing before
any possible "damage" could be done.  But we must watch out for
cold drafts, no?
