I agree that the Kodak Findlay lab was excellent in comparison to today's
shabby Kodak labs, I can assure you that they weren't perfect either.  I
had problems with lost film on two seperate occasions, years apart, and
an occasional scratch or two.  If you are continuing to see scratches on
your film, I would suggest you give your camera film path a good cleaning
and take your film to local professional lab and see if things improve.
After using a pro lab here in Detroit on occasion, I understand why they
charge
more - they take better care of your film!
