I agree that this is the best and probably most cost effective way to get the 
highest quality slides possible for giving to family and friends.
But for those times when shooting extra pictures is not an option, for 
whatever reason, you may want to try Dale Labs.  They are quite dependable 
and offer Fed Ex service to assure that your slides will not get lost.
You get back your unmounted, uncut, slides with a "master" for further 
duplication .
You can make as many copies as you need this way of your Realist, Viewmaster, 
etc. slides.
I have used Dale Labs as have others I know.  The Quality suffers slightly in 
both sharpness and color, but for friends and family who will not be 
comparing their copies to the quality you would have acheived with 
conventional processing of slide film - this could be a good compromise when 
many duplicates needed make it impractial to shoot dupes in camera or pay the 
high cost of duping in a lab.  Using 100 asa print film provides fairly good 
results.  Shoot a roll and judge for yourself if the quality is acceptable to
