P3D anaglyph glasses and permanent colour shift

John Toeppen mentions someone who's eyes have different colour balance,
blamed on anaglyph glasses. Many years ago, my friends and I would catch
every screening of 3D movies at the local rep cinema (usually Creature
from the Black Lagoon, in anaglyph). We noticed the temporary shift in
colour balance caused by the glasses, and joked about it being permanent
(we also wondered if you could wear the glasses backwards for a couple of
days befor the movie, and thus not need them). Later, when I began working
in television, I noticed that the colour temperature of my eyes is
noticeably different; the right eye is 'warmer' than the left. I have
convinced myself that it's only a coincidence that this matches the effect
of wearing the (red-on-right) "Deep Vision 3D of Hollywood" glasses. I
wonder, now, though, how much do peoples eyes vary? And when will surgical
techniques improve so I can trade for a matched set? (preferably ones
that will focus at a distance of more than 15cm, which is about the limit
of the current models)
