Once I was hiking in the high country around Yosemite in the summer when
there happened to be a lot of snow on the ground. It was so bright that I
closed one eye entirely and was squinting with the other. After a few
minutes I switched eyes and was alarmed when I noticed a drastic change in
color between the eyes which didn't immediately go away. One eye was seeing
blue and the other was seeing red. I was concerned that I might have damaged
my eye but it went away in a few minutes.
