I too think Kodachrome has excellent color accuracy. I have used Kodachrome II
and 25 for decades and only time I have gotten a magenta cast was with expired
film. However, I have gotten two rolls back in the last month with a barely
perceptible pinhole at dead center of each slide. Barely perceptible, that is,
until a stereo pair is viewed and the pinhole floats in front of the view. It
must be a processing fault. Processing was by Kodak's lab in San Leandro,
California. The lab has also mismounted my slides several times last year
(standard full frame type).
So I'm shopping for an E6 film with grainlessness and color accuracy comparable
to Kodachrome 25. I tried Velvia but found its color shifts terrible. From
previous messages it looks like I would not be happy with Provia either. Any
other candidates? Does anyone use Astia?
