I wonder if that might be a Tyco product - when they cut their
b&w camera line, I got two at $50 each. I'd heard that they were
developing a replacement which was going to be color...

The B & W video camera was actually cut to $25 at the end in Toys R Us. I
bought a few but never used it. If I remember correctly, they had to be used
in home - they were not portable for outdoor use.
As I mentioned in a previous posting - the toy show would take at least five
days to cover every booth - thousands of dealers. I was primarily looking
for 3-D related toys. Not to say that many other interesting items did not
cross my eye - in fact I spent over $1500 on non 3-D related interesting
stuff, ( money I should have kept for John Saddy's auction, Dalia Miller's
catalog/auction, John Golden stuff, Mesa, etc), but the temptation was too
great! Anyway - I did not happen to see that item - but if it is the
replacement for the B & W, there would probably be limitation to use and
quality. I have seen video cameras at B & H camera for under $300.00 and I
would think that finding one for a little over $200 would not be out of the
question - I know that is still alot more than $79 - but if one were able to
make a 3-D video, then the extra amount would be worth it for the increased
quality and features. I will do some research and find out about this camera
and will report back here with any news. (there was actually an entire
section with video/electronic/computer related toys - that's probably where
that item - or similar items - would have been - I will pay more attention
to that area at future shows.)
