Yes, good point.
This assumes that the window is at infinity and you are bringing
it closer to the camera. But how much to mask? The rule about
"seeing less" (or more) applies for any object within the
3-dimensional space. If you see less of this object then the
window is in front of the object. Also, when you use RBT mounts
for full frame slides (I believe it was your question on this
subject that brought up the discussion) then both right and left
edges are being masked.
