The cheapest and easiest method would be to purchase the mounting guage
transparancies from Reel 3-D. These guages accurately help you to align
homologous points, helps eliminate misalignments and rotational errors,
and assists with chip placement based on the near and far points. After
a while ( like training wheels) your slides can be successfully mounted
without the guage. You will learn to estimate chip placement through
repetition and after awhile the guage is intuitive. The guages work with
all mounts. Using RBT mounts (with proper pin registrations to match
your cameras vertical alignment ) the window can be set by eye very
easily. The guages are most helpful with the "floating" cardboard type
mounts.
