I don't know how it is designed in Pentax camera (Pentax keeps refusing
to provide the electric schematics for that model). Ricoh 35R camera
has the following circuitry to release the shutter (identical for "ready"
signal):

Closing one of the switches propagates ground potential to shutter 
release circuits in both cameras.
