P3D portable slide-bar for use with stereo camera

I am really a snapshot type of stereo photographer, and perfectly happy
with my Kodak Stereo. Some of the snap-shooting is done while hiking in the
mountains, and there a larger stereo-base would be advantageous
(sometimes), while carrying a second camera for use with a slide-bar seems
cumbersome - to me, at least :-)

So, I have been thinking if it would work if I were to mount my Kodak to a
Bogen slide-bar (or similar portable device) and simply slide the whole
camera. You would then obtain 4 slides to choose from, just like from a
Nimslo. Would you be able to mount the outside pair in an RBT mount or
would there be a too big a difference in height?

Any comments, please?
