I have heard conversations lately regarding the use of a Slide Bar to simply
use ONE camera versus using two... Obviously this results in a huge savings
but my experience with
doing this resulted in "fun" pictures until.... I actually began to NOTICE
and appreciate the problems in doing it this way. It can be very irritating
to ignore those items in the stereo window that are NOT correct! Such as?
Slight but noticeable (therefore confusing) differences in: Cloud Movement,
Water, Leaves, People, etc... I strongly recommend shooting 35mm film in
two modern SLR's if possible with either two cable releases, or a dual one.
The object being to snap both pic's as close to the same time as possible.
Plus, the multicoated lenses offered by SLR's in the
80's - 90's and optical abilities yield some great stuff! I shot with two
Olympus 35mm OM2's then OM4's for a while with satisfying results. Royal
Gold 25asa Print Film processed at 3x5 inch then cropped for 3" wide x 3.4"
tall photos on a black matte backing is what I used. It's easy to do this
and there are several ways to set it up. However, let me warn you now...
once you do it this way for a while, you'll probably really start yearning
for even richer images in the MF world... (I can't wait!!!!) -ugh... but I
have to....

Hey, while I'm at it.... I really liked the big lenses that were part of a
French Rotary Viewer I recently sold on ebay... These were about 2" across
and seemed to enlarge the print in the boxed viewer slightly as well. Are
lenses like this available anywhere? they looked like single lenses to me
that were in a 1900 (approx year) viewer.... I'd like to re-make one of
these... has anyone done this for 3x7 prints?
