Let's say you've scanned a 35mm slide into the computer using
a high quality scanner like the Sprintscan 4000, you've photoshopped
it, and now you want to output your digital file to positive film.
Can it be output to Kodachrome, or do you have to output
to a specific film stock just for this purpose, like a duping film stock?
If so, how long do this special duping film stock last
(in years) say to Kodachrome (which lasts 50+ years).

In the visitors shops of museums and national parks they have sets
of 35mm slides forsale. Do these slides last a long time like
Kodachrome, or do they fade away in 10 years?

Since it's digital, can the file of your photograph be specially color +
contrast calibrated to be output to a specific film stock of your liking
such as Kodachrome, Velvia, RDP III, etc., or do the digital
service labs have to use a specific film stock that works
with their equipment?

Thanks much,
Philip Steinman
