Wow, that's exactly what happened to me also when I went a little over two
months ago!

Eddie, are you referring to the new style glasses? The reason I ask is
because over the Christmas holidays I went to see a 3-D Imax movie
(with my buddy Wlad) and I noticed that they changed from the old style
glasses to a new really cool design.

The were very stylish and I wouldn't be embarrassed to wear them
even outside as sunglasses! I examined them very closely and saw
that they were designed and made in Italy (hear that Sergio!). Italy is
well known for there very stylish frames!

I also asked the Imax person and they told me the same thing as
they did to you. I replied as you did, but they also thought I was
nuts.

I was going to report on these glasses on P3D but never got around
to it. Anyways, a few weeks later I noticed that I was already scooped
by Lawrence Kaufman, in the November issue of the Southern California
3D News newsletter. You can see a cool picture of it on page 6.

I imagine these glasses are much more expensive than the older
ones that are commonly used by a lot of other places and can
be bought from some 3-D vendors (I think Steve Bezerin and Reel-3D
carry them).

I asked the Imax attendent how much they might cost and he (guessed?)
that they cost $55 US. Ouch!

BTW, Imax is working on a a tester to test the polarity of the glasses.
This is important because the glasses are subjected to repeated washing
cylces after each show.
