I didn't mean to imply that a remote release is required. One of the great
things about the twin XR-10Ms is that you can get them up and synched
perfectly in 5 minutes with some inexpensive wiring available at Radio
Shack. I think part of the reason I was having problems with camera shake
is that I was using a flimsy tripod - unfortunately I often don't have room
to pack a solid one when travelling on business. With the remote release I
find I can get sharp long exposures even with a mediocre tripod. (as long as
the wind's not blowing and no trucks drive by) Jim Harp
