I am in digest mode and I only get one advertisement at
the top.

Here is my somewhat weird setup for getting ad-free 3d
mail messages:

I use procmail on my unix mail server to pipe the digest
through an awk script which splits the digest into separate
mail messages and saves them in a "3d" folder.

I like digest mode for photo-3d since I don't feel so
much pressure to be reading 3d mail all the time--I like
reading a whole set of them at once.  I also like that my
script splits them back into separate messages so that I
can just pick out the subjects I want to read and easily
save/delete/reply to individual messages.  And, as an
added bonus, I don't see any of the normal onelist ads!
