I'm also a Realist user, with a more bulky setup I drag around in metal
ammo boxes. I have a Sunpak 511 with the "potato masher" type handle
and a camera bracket. I mount the Realist on the bracket, and the pc
flash synch cord attaches to a specially modified adaptor that fits on
the Realist hot shoe. If I need more power, I velcro another large
slaved strobe on top of the 511 to double the output. For ultimate
power I've successfully used the REalist flashbulb unit and put another
slave on the 511. Velcro'ing additional slave units onto your point-
and-shoot setup is an easy way to get those f stops up and get much
better depth of field. Also with velcro, you can aim the strobes in
different directions. Unfortunately, these bulky setups require two
types of slaves, both the electronic ones and the human ones you must
exploit or con into helping you carry/drag the stuff through the cave!

I've got a similar slave unit that is powered by a nine-volt battery,
it never fails to fire like the other non-powered units sometimes
do.

Your latest submissions to the folio are wonderful and mounted in
glass/aluminum frames. So far, I've only used the RBT/jig with spicer
mount method, or RBT's themselves. I've got some stereo books on
the way (via Ebay) that hopefully may explain to me how these other
mounting systems work. I like these glass mounts, but haven't a clue
as to how to work with them.
