I notice this too, my prescription is about -6. Maps are either cool or
annoying, depending on my mood. The funniest thing that ever happened as a
result of this was one night when I was working a late night shift at a TV
station, I looked up at the  monitor on a video tape machine, and
noticed that the colour bars were offset vertically. There was nothing I
knew of that could possibly have caused that to happen electronically,and
I stared at it for a good long time before I realized it was just that
chromadepth effect!
