[photo-3d] Re: future of on-line auctions

In new Digest 45, M.A. Sell writes, in part:
<< states are
starting to crack down and require on-line
auctioneers to carry an auctioneer's licensee! >>
I would not interpret this to mean that each offerer would need a license,
rather that each service (e-bay, amazon, cameradirect, whoever.com) would
need the licensing. The established houses will already have it (Sothebys,
Christies, Brooks, etc). After all, when I've sold things through
traditional auction houses, I didn't have to get up there & swing the gavel
myself (that is how they earn their "premiums" [nice euphemism for commision,
isn't it?]).
