I understand that the KR-10M was sold in some markets (USA?) as an XR-10M
and that they are the same camera. Twinning these Ricoh cameras was
discussed on this list in mid February.

I use a pair of KR-10Ms that have been modified slightly to improve the sync
and to overcome the 'wake up' issue. The shutter button has three
connections, common, wake up and fire. If you remove the camera top and
solder wires to these three connections on each camera and then join the
wires together - lightly pressing the shutter button on one camera awakens
both cameras. If you also join the camera 'earths' either via another wire
or by filing the cameras to a metal bar via the tripod threaded socket, then
the batteries will also be paralleled.

This effective 4 wire arrangement improves the sync and overcomes the wakeup
issue.

I have uploaded four JPEG files, that show the external connections on my
KR-10Ms, to the Photo-3D 'Files' section at
http://www.egroups.com/files/photo-3d/

The Ricoh KR-10Ms were the base camera that RBT used for there model X2
stereo camera. When accurate sync is not an issue I wire my RBT-X2 to one
KR-10M in the manner described by Jim Harp for the occasional hyper shot
when I do not wish to carry the extra KR-10M as well as the RBT. I then
awaken both cameras just before the shot by either lightly pressing the
shutter buttons or switching the cameras off and then on again.
