Fundus refers to the inside of the eye, specifically the retina in
the back of the eye. A fundus camera is an incomplete optical system,
since it uses the optics of the eye as part of the focussing system.
I think the other thing you missed looking at the picture on the
Nidek page is that this gizmo is two feet high, 2 feet from front to
back, and about 10 inches side to side. That doesn't include the table
it is mounted on, and the power supply for the flash. It also weighs
in excess of 100 lbs.

I don't have any here at home, but I'll take a look around for
something suitable at the clinic.
