[photo-3d] Slide-Bar Experiments

I just got the results back from my Bogen Slide-Bar experiment. The
slides look very good. In some cases, stunning. The gear used was an
old Minolta SRT-101 with 3 different lenses employed. A 50mm f1.4
normal, a 50mm macro, and a 28mm Tokina wide angle. The first 2 lenses
mentioned are Rokkors. I must say that the Minolta lenses destroy the
best any Realist can do on its best day. But to put that statement in
perspective, the old Minolta lenses are in fact 20 years newer than my
3.5 Realist. So I would expect that the photos would be better. If they
hadn't, I would be very suspect of Rokkor lenses. Even the cheapie Tokina
was a great performer. The color, sharpness and detail were first rate
and wonderfull to look at.
HOWEVER... on the 3d scale of things, the Realist is still king. Taking
pictures with a slide bar is a disadvantage from taking 2 at once. So the
Realist gives me better 3d, the Minolta gives me better individual pictures
