Thanks Paul for identifying the situation with the Austin club.
Information on some of the stereo clubs around the world is very sketchy.
Perhaps P3D members might be able to indicate which of the other 41 NOT
listed clubs still exist, no longer exist, or only exist in a limited way. I
am aware that some of the non ISU listed clubs are not 'Stereo Clubs' as
many of us understand. That is they may not have regular meetings or
functions and may not even collect fees.
For example, in Australia we have two major stereo clubs, one in Sydney and
one in Melbourne that are both members of the International Stereoscopic
Union (ISU). There is a small third identity that was on 'the list of 41',
the Australian Stereoscopic Society. This society is largely made up of a
small number of the members of the two major clubs. It has limited funds and
exist as a folio circuit only.
Thank you Lawrence for pricking the conscience of many of the 3D clubs that
are active and do not yet belong to the ISU. At US$20 per year for ISU
membership, I would strongly encourage ISU membership for both clubs and
individuals.
Information about the ISU can be found at: http://stereoscopy.com/isu/
