Hi,

Someone mentioned about going to try the Pentax Stereo Adapter
(aka "beamsplitter") on a digital camera. Sounded like a good
idea -- one I think of doing from time to time, but "later".

Well, okay, both were nearby so I did a quickie test of the
idea.

Full results (incl. pic's) are on my website on this page:

However, the "executive summary" is that it works about as
well as might be expected, but it probably almost requires that
some creative adapter be used to hold things parallel. My
wife's digital camera has screw threads for adding adapters
to the front of the lens, so a cascade of several adapter sizes
may get it large enough to directly hookup "solid". With that,
and some editing, results may be something useful, particularly
for the web where substantial cropping could be done and the
resulting resolution still be okay.

Mike K.
