The question was will under exposing Provia 100F give
more saturation. The answer is YES! This is true
with all slide film. The trick of course is not
underexposing too much. Generally the rule is to
meter your highlight area rather than in the nutral or
shadow area. This is how I have been shooting for
years, with great/consistant results! And I love
100F.
If you were going to just meter in the nutral area,
adjust your exposure by no more than half a stop, and
possibly even a bit less.
The important thing is to experiment a bit and take
some simple notes the first time you try this. When
you get it right, then you will have a formula that
works best for you in your normal shooting situations.
If you were to bracket (I don't anymore, trying to
save money, and usually works out fine) try bracketing
in no more than half stops. You will see right away
which one worked the best.
By the way, if I could get the "Flash" program to do
what I am telling it to do my totally new web site
would be up by now. If there are any experts on this
list please contact me privately so I don't start a
flash thread on the list. And don't send me pictures
of people "flashing" the camera, that isn't what I am
talking about. :)
