The professional one is a multi-session disc (able to be written to/added to
many times) which holds one hundred images (I think) in five file (.TIF)
sizes. The largest of these is a bit over 18 MB.

I think it's far wiser to have your images printed, choose the two or three
that are "worth something" and have them added to your CD.

That is fair, and well worth doing. However, the original post I replied to
was specifically about printing stereocards, and for that, the Pro Photo CD
route is the only way to go IMHO.
