[photo-3d] Laminated Holmes Stereoviews

I have been experimenting with making laminated holmes stereoviews,
and I'd like to show you what I have come up with.

Take a look here:
   http://members.aol.com/blackwellfamily/holmes.htm

The first couple of stereo pairs show my hand holding up one of my
laminated cards with my workspace in the background. The paper in
the
foreground is the acid-free cardstock that I use to mount the photos.
I print descriptions for each card and then cut them down to 6"x3".
I then glue the photos down with an Elmer's acid-free glue stick
(visible in the background to the right). I then sandwich the
photo/card combo between sheets of laminating pasting and run them
through my laminating machine. The laminating machine (visible in
the
background to the left) is an Ibico laminator capable of laminating
objects up to 4" wide.

The lamination plastic I use is also made by Ibico and is PVC-free
(according to the Ibico customer-service rep I talked to). I mention
this because it seems to be a common recommendation is the
scrapbooking newsgroups that you should only place photos in plastic
that is PVC-free.

If you look farther down the Web page, you will see a front and back
scan of one of my cards. In the scan, you can just barely make out
the clear plastic border around the pictures. (The scans actually
make the plastic look dingier than it is as a result of the light
from
the scanner passing throught the plastic twice.)

The biggest problem I have had with making stereoviews this way is
the
bubbling. Tiny bubbles of air get trapped between the photo and the
laminating plastic. You can reduce the problem, though, by having
the
photos printed with matte finish.

So, what do y'all think?
