[photo-3d] aurora, again

I just got word that a SECOND coronal mass has ejected from the sun.
Things may be really hopping this weekend.
Here are some sites to check on current conditions:
http://solar.spacew.com/www/realtime.html
http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2000/ast07jun_1m.htm?list
http://www.spaceweather.com/

Auroras are notoriously hard to predict. I won't say this may be
a once in a lifetime event (potentially) but if you are at all
interested, and can get to a dark sky site, it will be worthwhile
to keep watch.
Note that there may be lunar light interference until about 1 AM
or so, until moonset occurs. Best chance of seeing will begin
about midnight, your local time.
Myself, I'm grabbing some fast film, locking cable release, and
tripod just in case (and praying against clouds!).
Lastly, if you get two copies of this message kindly disregard.
I inadvertantly rebooted the local listserver this afternoon and
it attempted a mailing with the old address list.
Thanks!
Bob Wier
