[photo-3d] Workshops in Mesa... - Stereo Mounting

This year I am involved in 3 workshops in the NSA
convention in Mesa.

- Workshop no 1: Stereo Mounting (I am conducting this with
DrDave and help from Jon Golden and Paul Talbot)

I will start by covering the basic principles of stereo mounting.
These principles apply for any stereo image, from slides, to
prints, to computer images. I will explain these principles
clearly, plus touch on practical matters, for example,
how to set the stereo window.

We will then move to stereo projection. We will project
images with a few mounting problems and the audience will
identify the problems and how can they be corrected. I will
also project a couple of stereo slides in modified RBT mounts
so I can manipulate the stereo window while the stereo image
is viewed in projection. This way hopefully everyone will
understand what the stereo window is and how it is adjusted!

The third part of the presentation will be practical mounting
demonstration of stereo slides. There will be a display of
currently available and a lot of discontinued mounts. Jon Golden
will have one of his SAM (Stereo Active Mounting) devices, while
Jon and Paul Talbot will have samples of RBT and Spicer mounts.

DrDave will demonstrate his technique for mounting in Spicer
mounts by transferring from a specially-modified RBT mount.

I will demonstrate mounting directly (or with SAM's help) in
RBT and Albion mounts. Paul Talbot will demonstrate the use
of the Spicer jig for mounting in Spicer mounts.

I would like to have someone demonstrate mounting in heat-seal
mounts. If anyone would like to help, please email me to
make arrangements.

At the end, everyone will receive a handout plus a few free
mounts.

I think this workshop will be helpful for many beginners and
a few not-so-beginners in stereo. Hope you can join us!
